If you had chickenpox before, the varicella zoster virus that causes it remains inactive in your body, and could potentially reactivate again to cause a different disease: shingles. Shingles can be extremely painful, and the risk of complications is even higher for older adults. Consultant urologist Dr George Lee is joined by consultant geriatrician Prof Dr Tan Maw Pin to discuss pain management for shingles among older adults, and whether vaccination is key to prevent shingles.
