Doctor in the House: What Do Our Young Doctors Need?

The Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, recently said that his ministry can no longer fully absorb all graduate medical officers into permanent appointments. Instead, the Health Ministry will continue to offer contract-based employment to medical officers. On today’s show, we speak with Dr Kevin Ng Wei Shan, Chairman of Section Concerning House Officers, Medical Officers and Specialists, of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), and Dr Vikkineshwaran Siva Subramaniam, Chairman of Malaysian Medics International (MMI), to find out how this continues to impact young doctors in the healthcare system.
