Doctor in the House: Cancer – Getting the Real Numbers

Dr George Lee returns to discuss the latest medical news. Expect deep insights delivered with generous humour. In an April 2020 circular, Health director-general Dato’ Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah instructed that all cancer cases, diagnosed in public and private health facilities, are now required to be reported to the Ministry of Health. Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha, Deputy Director (NCD), Non-Communicable Disease Section, Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health, joins Dr George to discuss what it means when cancer is a notifiable disease, and how this development will impact cancer care, as well as allocations for research and treatment.
