Be Fit Malaysians: Take A Hike (But Do It Right)

Being stuck at home for long periods during lockdowns led to many of us wanting to seek out green spaces and explore the great outdoors. Whether it’s an easy trail or perhaps even a more adventurous climb, what do we need to know about these activities, especially when it comes to avoiding and managing injuries? It’s especially worrying when we have read reports of people unexpectedly collapsing during these activities, due to fatigue or a sudden cardiac arrest, so what can we do to prevent these situations from happening? Consultant orthopaedic surgeon Dr Harjeet Singh is joined by emergency physician - and avid hiker - Dr Ahmad Suhailan Mohamed to weigh in.
