ASEAN Dengue Day 2023: On The Frontiers of Dengue R&D

Dengue is an infectious disease that many of us are all too familiar with in Southeast Asia. While we’ve yet to see an effective vaccine or even a cure, there is a lot of research and development happening behind the scenes to help us improve prevention, detection and treatment of dengue fever. In conjunction with ASEAN Dengue Day, we speak to two women spearheading R&D here in Southeast Asia, Assoc Prof Dr Panisadee Avirutnan, Chief of the Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Research Unit, Mahidol University, and Dr Ami Fazlin Syed Mohamed, Head of the Herbal Medicine Research Centre, Institute for Medical Research (IMR).
